“A promise is only as good as the person who makes it!” ~ Ryan Avery
Ryan Avery, a young man from Humble Texas, just orated his way to the title 2012 World Champion of Public Speaking. Mr. Avery is a toastmaster from District 7 Portland Oregon. “Avery” as he is called by friends joined Toastmasters in January 2011. Send him your congratulations via his Facebook Page or Twitter Account. His winning speech is entitled “Trust is a Must” and he says he joined Toastmasters to reduce his filler words particularly “like” and to develop skills which would help advance his career. He is a graduate of Colorado State University and holds two degrees, one in Anthropology and the other in Journalism. Ryan credits his father with encouraging him to become a toastmaster and says his father supported this thrust by paying his first dues – an investment which has yielded high returns today. Ryan’s wife, Chelsea, provided updates via social media as he prepared backstage to deliver his masterpiece. Well Done Team Avery!!!
